Traveling across the U.S. and abroad has shaped my belief that design is a form of cultural storytelling. These immersive experiences have deepened my understanding of how people, places, and traditions influence spatial needs and aesthetics. They’ve taught me to approach each project with empathy, cultural awareness, and a commitment to designing environments that are both meaningful and human-centered.

FLORENCE, ITALY

Over four months in Florence, I studied interior design, fashion design, and brand identity within a city renowned for its artistic heritage and architectural legacy. Immersing myself in both the classroom and the cultural fabric of Italy, I gained a deeper appreciation for how place, history, and visual language shape design narratives across disciplines.

BANGKOK & CHANG MAI, THAILAND

In Thailand, I explored both the dynamic energy of Bangkok and the cultural depth of Chiang Mai as part of LSU’s Global Leadership and Development program. This immersive experience offered insight into leadership, communication, and community-building within a global context, deepening my understanding of how cultural values shape collaboration and decision-making.

FALL 2023

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK

As part of a faculty-led design trip to New York City, I engaged directly with the industry—meeting with a lighting designer, touring a prominent architecture firm, and experiencing the city’s iconic architecture from the unique perspective of a boat tour. This trip offered valuable insight into professional practice, urban design, and the scale of architectural storytelling in a global metropolis.

During a faculty-led trip to Arkansas, I toured the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, visited two architectural firms, and explored significant regional architectural sites. The experience provided a deeper appreciation for the intersection of art, environment, and contemporary architectural practice.
